Prayer for the Isaan People

Friday was a day for prayer for the Isaan people and encouraging the church in Ubon Ratchathani. Kris and the team facilitated the monthly pastors gathering. It was from 9-12, with a delicious Vietnamese noodle dish served for lunch.

The group gathered to share communion together, to celebrate what God has done in Ubon over the last 10 years, and to pray and listen to God to hear what He would have for them for the future. We shared a beautiful time of worship together and then broke into smaller groups to pray. It was so good to share in this time together with all of them.

After sharing lunch together, Kris and I went into town to meet with Sophie. We spent the afternoon together brainstorming ideas on bringing short-term workers (through STEP or as other interns) to Thailand to serve alongside the team here. There are several possibilities that could work, especially connecting with Sophie and her work at the University. Please join us in praying and seeking God for wisdom as to the next steps we should take.

We went for dinner--a hot plate. So fun, and so fresh! Seriously, I am soaking up every.single. cultural experience that I can while I'm here!  We had some fun at the mall with the various shirts and sayings...oh, and some stuffed animals.

After dinner, the team gathered for a night of worship and prayer.

Tomorrow is going to be a full day. Visiting a few other villages, among other things.
