Slow day, huh?

Today was going to be low-key, but we ended up packing it full of things!  It’s kind of late here so the blog will be shorter today.

After breakfast at the Guest House, we went to see the school where Amy’s children (Abby and Micah) attended while Lynn and Amy were in language school in Thailand.  Then we went to the mall, and met some of Kris and Amy’s friends for lunch.  I occupied the kids while Kris and Amy visited with Dave and Becky.  After their visit, we spent some time at the mall.  There is a kids craft area which was actually pretty cool.  Abby, Micah and Anna all spent some time there with Amy, each making a craft to bring home with them.  Kris and I had ourselves a little treat from Dairy Queen!  While at lunch, Dave and Becky told Kris and Amy about other friends of theirs that were actually in town.  So, we ended up meeting them at their house for dinner!

We had an awesome dinner (sticky rice and papaya salad with dragon fruit for dessert) and a great time of fellowship at Matt and Erin’s house.  The goal today was to keep the kids awake all day—no naps—so they would sleep through the night (and of course, Amy could then get a full night’s sleep).  They all did great…Anna didn’t make it, she fell asleep at 5:00 during the taxi ride to Matt and Erin’s house.

Today was a great day of friendships and lots of laughter (silly things with the kids).  Tonight, Alan and Emily will join us.  Their flight gets in late from Harrisburg.  So, tomorrow will be a full day of activities to keep them awake as long as possible on their first day here, too.  We have several cultural things planned for tomorrow.  We’ll also be leaving tomorrow evening to take the night train to Ubon.  So, not sure if I’ll get to blog until after we’ve arrived in Ubon on Wednesday.

Thanks for your prayers!
