On Friday morning, Alan had to get up bright and early (5:30 a.m.) to meet Randy to go out to the fish farm. They do their work early in the morning when it is not so hot! Since I wasn’t there, I’m going to try to get a re-cap and some pictures from Alan later.
After breakfast, Emily and I went with Becky to Ratchaphat University to teach English. There were 29 students in the class. Emily and I were there to help Becky teach them English. It was really fun, because, obviously we know the English language, right? We helped to correct their speaking and writing during the time we were there. They were working on how to do introductions. So, Becky showed them by introducing both Emily and I. They broke into pairs to practice and then they came to either Becky, Emily or I to introduce their friend to us. They did such a great job!
We joined 4 of the students for lunch in the cafeteria. It was fun to keep talking to them. They all want to be English teachers when they graduate. It was about 2:00 when we got back to the Guest House. We had a few hours before meeting Kris for dinner, so Emily and I walked to Lotus for some Dairy Queen! We also shopped around, too. They have some really cute shoes here, but they are not made for my big American feet! I also wanted to purchase some anti-itch cream for my MANY mosquito bites. So, I go to the pharmacy area and try to ask for this. Well, Leah, you would be proud…my pantomiming skills came through this time! J Of course, I couldn’t read the packaging but still tried it out when I got back to the Guest House. It worked…and my skin didn’t turn green or anything, so I think I got the right stuff!
We grabbed a quick bite to eat for supper at a food court in a mall nearby. After supper, the entire team gathered at Kris and Silk’s house for a time of worship and prayer. It was beautiful! There is no better place to be than in the presence of God!
I’ll throw in some random photos from Thailand along with our photos from today. Enjoy!
