We had a long day of travel on Tuesday, leaving the Owens’ home at 5
am. Two flights and a 5-hour bus ride
later, we arrived in Choma around 4:30 in the afternoon. I have to say, even in spite of all of the
travel today, it was actually a great day for me. I lucked out on the long bus ride with not
having anyone sitting next to me, so I had some nice down time for reading,
journaling, resting and just taking in God’s beautiful creation. What a blessing and a privilege it is for me
to be here. I am in awe of God and how
He works.
When we arrived in Choma, Joleen
and the children met us at the bus station and brought us to Nahumba to stay in
the BIC Guest House. Bruce and Joleen
and their family serve here in Choma.
Joleen serves as the Financial Secretary and Bruce serves with the
Compassion Ministry Team and water projects, as well as homeschooling their
children.
When we arrived, we took a quick tour of the area around the Guest
House and met many of Bruce and Joleen’s friends and neighbors. We had an evening meal with Bruce and
Joleen, Alex and Michello, and their
daughter, joined us for the meal. They
are Zambian friends of Bruce and Joleen.
We had a great time of fellowship together and learning a lot of the
Zambian culture.
Enjoy the ride to Choma!
